Success for Armaan at British Championships

Armaan won prizes in both tournaments he played at the British Championships held in Llandudno in July/August

In the U14 Championships, he was joint 3rd with 5/7. In the U140s (a tough tournament because it was using FIDE ratings so included lots of much higher ECF-graded players) he scored 3/5 and won the grading prize. An excellent result in both events, well done!

There were a number of good results in other events too.

In the British Championships, Jonah Willow scored an impressive 4.5/9, losing just 2 games in which all his opponents were higher-rated. Also doing well, Aditya Munshi finished on 3/9.

In the Major Open, Anita Somton scored 4.5/9 losing just one game, while Hambel Willow finished on 2.5/9.

Anita also played in the AM Open, finishing on 1.5/5.

David Levens, in his last event representing West Nottingham, scored well to finish on 3.5/7 in the Overs 65s.

Finally, Arjuna Mendis scored 2/7 in the U10 Championships, while Vidura Mendis scored 2/7 in the U14s.
