Armaan wins British Rapidplay!

In a great result, Armaan Gogia won the Intermediate Section of the 10-round British Rapidplay, held in Ilkley on 18th and 19th November

Armaan only lost one game, to the joint winner, finishing on an impressive 8.5/10. Congratulations! We believe he won £300!

Also in the Intermediate, Vidura Mendis scored a creditable 6/10. Not only that, he won a grading prize of £25, plus this was enough for his second norm to become a member of the England Junior Squad. Congratulations to Vidura!

West Nottingham also had representatives in the other sections and tournaments.

In the Open, Adi Munshi scored solidly to finish on 4.5/10.

In the Major, Anita Somton also scored 4.5/10, while in the Minor Kian Chan finished on 5/10.

There was also an U11 England trial qualifier on the Saturday. Daniel Chen was joint winner of the event with 4.5/5 and so is qualifed to the trial in April. Joining him is Joseph Hurst, whose score of 4/5 (only losing to Daniel) was more than enough (3/5 was the target). Arjuna Mendis was unlucky to just miss out, on 2.5/5.
