Third place for Jonah in Crewe Congress

Crewe Congress, in its second year, was hosted in a comfortable hotel near the train station over the weekend of the 13th-15th October.

In the Open, Jonah Willow was joint third with 3.5/5, winning £25. He lost to the top seed.

In the Major, Hambel Willow scored 2.5/5, a fine result with being outgraded in every game.

I recommend this event, having a good playing venue and conditions for non-players, and using incremental time controls which is thankfully becoming more common nowadays.

A summary of the event, with results and photos, can be found at Crewe Chess Club's website.
