English U11 Championships

This tournament took place at Nottingham High School on the 12th and 13th October and featured many of our players.

In addition to the Championship, this tournament is one of the competitions Year 5 and 6 players can achieve a half-norm towards qualifying to the England Junior Squad Trial in April. Players needed to score 3 points or more to get their half-norm.

We are delighted to report that Adam Bennett, Aditya Munshi and Abhishek Thakar all gained their half-norms. Adi finished on 4 pts and equal second. In addition, Susie Wang scored three points despite being too young to gain a half-norm! Watch out for Susie next year!
