Fernwood Girls win U19 Northern Semi-Final!
On the 14th January, John Crawley took a team from Fernwood Comprehensive (plus Alexandra from the Primary) to compete in the Under 19 Girls Section of the National Schools Chess Championships, a 3-player team event.
Two teams competed as the A and B team:
'A' Team - Ritika (5/5), Alana (4/5) and Isabella (3/5)
'B' Team - Mathilde (2/5), Emma (4/5) and 'little' Alexandra (5/5).

A fantastic result for all the girls, overcoming strong opposition to place 1st and 2nd!
Next step is the National Final, to be held at St Catherine's School, Bramley, later in the year.
