Another strong showing in the annual congress, held at Nottingham High School on 15th and 16th April

Starting with the Open, Jonah Willow finished on 3/5 with Eldars Gulijevs scoring 1pt.

In the Major, Lavanya Maladkar finished on 2.5pts, Ross Murphy on 2pts and Ritika Maladkar on 1.5pts.

In the Intermediate, Senith Gunarathne started strongly but faded to finish on 2.5pts.

For the Minor, Sebastian Griffin-Young scored 2.5pts, Aryan Nair 2pts.

But it was the Improvers which provided our best successes. Artemijs Gulijevs was first with 4.5/5, winning £150. Jonah Tomsett was joint second on 4pts and won £75. And Miheli Gunarathne won the rating prize of £30 for her score of 3.5pts. Alex Clements also competed, finishing on 2.5pts.

All results are available on chess-results. Congratulations to everyone who competed, a very successful day and good to see competitive chess in Nottingham once again.
