Jonah Willow is County Champion!
At this year's Nottinghamshire County Championships, Jonah was unbeaten on 4/5 and became County and Junior Champion.
As usual the event was held at Nottingham High School on 19th and 20th November. Jonah won all 3 games on the first day and then was able to draw the last 2 to ensure victory. He is pictured with the Rook for County Champion and the Junior Champion trophy. Taylor Pearson also competed in this section and finished on 2.5/5.
The event was a success for other West Nottingham players.
In the U155 Adam Bennett was =3rd on 3.5/5 and secured the £25 Junior prize money on performance rating, although Jonah was Junior Champion and got the trophy. Armaan Gogia scored an impressive 3/5 having decided to play up a section according to grade. Susie Wang scored 1.5.
The U125 Champion (4/5) is Dominic Heining, who has recently rejoined the club after an absence to study. Close behind him, Ritika Maladkar scored 3.5/5 and was =2nd. Daniel Chen finished on 3/5 while Lavanya Maladkar and Vidura Mendis scored 2.5.
