Scarborough Congress is a well-established event which takes place during the autumn half-term holiday. Sebastian Griffin-Young decided to try his luck in the Open, and it worked well!
Despite being ranked 58 out of 62, he scored 2.5pts including a draw against Grantham player Nigel Birtwistle and wins against two players rated over 2000.
From these efforts, his FIDE-rating has climbed to over 1900 for the first time – a great achievement!
